Mrs. D got her first goat, Jenny, from her son and daughter's 4H
leader in 1999. Her first thought was, "what am I going to do with all
this milk?" The answer came while browsing an old edition of Reader's
Digest "Back to Basics". Make soap. Mrs. D's Homestead was
born. We've come a long way since that first batch of dark brown milk soap
we cooked up in coffee cans on the 4H leader's stove and cured in cake
pans. Now we make several lovely scented soaps, emollient shea butter
lotion bars and soothing lip butters, in addition to other lovely and practical
items. Come in and shop, come back for more;)
